Seriously, this bakery is one of the best I've been to for crusty, chewy, euro style breads. The owners and staff are all bread lovers and you can tell by the real pride of product. This is so far the best bakery in Medicine Hat and I'd venture probably all southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. Stop in, see what's on the menu (they have a walnut jammed sourdough that is fantastic). White, French, daily sandwich whatever, its all good. Eat. Enjoy.
Such a great local bakery! They listen, and the bread is top notch. Tartine is my favourite. The donuts are wonderful too.
Really friendly staff. I wish that they offered all that I want for bread.Jan 2018 edit: Not open on Mondays anymore. Very frustrating when I got here for my monthly trip to the city.Aug 2018 edit: The bread crust is too dry and tough, so I won't be buying here anymore.
Staff is amazing as is every product of theirs that I have tried. I used to make my own bread all of the time but then I found McBride's and their bread is identical to my Grandma's loaf whose recipe I use. This morning I had a piece toasted and thought of her while I spent my first ever Canada Day without her on the earth. Thanks for being everything a bakery should be, and more.
With living in chronic pain every second of my days I will often go to my local strip mall and window shop with a chat here and there. To feel the warmth and savor the aroma of bread baking and hearing the staff welcome and engage us customers , my need for community is satisfied with this bakery and wonderful people there. The baking is awesome and the friendly staff often are the best medicine for my heart. Thanks you guys for being a beacon of true hospitality. Sandie Davidson
